Integrative Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Laila Contractor is a double board-certified Child and Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist. She is one of very few practitioners across the country certified in Integrative Psychiatry. Located in Irvine, California, Dr. Contractor specializes in ADHD and other learning challenges, as well as anxiety, mood, and trauma disorders.

Comprehensive Initial Consultation

practitioners across the country certified in Integrative Psychiatry. Located in Irvine, California, Dr. Contractor specializes in ADHD andother learning challenges, as well as anxiety, mood, and trauma disorders.

Comprehensive Initial Consultation
An effective individualized treatment plan must begin with an accurate diagnosis. The comprehensive initial consultation does just that. Prior to meeting with the patient, previous treatment, medical, psychiatric, bloodwork, genetic testing, psycho-educational, and neuropsychological records are reviewed. Existing therapists will also be contacted to understand the patient's background.

During a 90-minute evaluation, we will explore all aspects of patient health and well-being, including a discussion of personal goals. The evaluation begins with an extensive online intake questionnaire to assess psychiatric and medical history, medications, childhood experiences, relationships, environment, diet, and other lifestyle factors.

After the meeting, a comprehensive individualized treatment plan will be created, which can include treatment recommendations in several areas including additional laboratory or diagnostic testing, psychotherapy, vitamins/supplements, diet/nutrition, exercise plans, and other holistic treatments. Traditional medication may also be used. The goal is to look at multiple options and then narrow in on the approach that has the highest probability of success in the shortest amount of time

Integrative Psychiatry Consult or Second Opinion

Dr. Contractor services are often sought out by individuals who are seeking a second opinion for diagnostic clarity and/or alternative treatment opinions. Dr. Contractor takes the time to take a thorough history to assess root causes for psychiatric illness and ensure accurate diagnoses. Many also come to see her for recommendations for additional therapeutic modalities to enhance their current therapeutic regimen.
